TransAqua General Manager Position

TransAqua - The Greater Moncton Wastewater Commission aims to be an outstanding environmental steward supporting regional planning, economic development, and quality of life for the communities of Dieppe, Moncton, and Riverview. TransAqua’s network of collector sewers, pumping stations, a wastewater treatment facility, and a composting system allow the organization to collect and treat wastewater in a reliable, cost-efficient and environmentally sustainable manner.

TransAqua has been recognized for its innovative approach in the field of sustainable biosolids management, and it is undergoing an important expansion period during which it will increase treatment levels, integrate new approaches, and develop a state-of-the-art biological treatment system.

Venor Search Group is pleased to be partnering with TransAqua for the recruitment of their next General Manager, who will guide them through this period of growth and beyond.

Reporting directly to the six-member Commission, the General Manager will be directly responsible for the health and performance of the Greater Moncton Wastewater Commission and the success of its operations. They will establish strategies and plans to implement the corporate vision and direction, and will lead the day-to-day activities of the Commission including human resource management, building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing operating and capital budgets, and overseeing purchasing activities. The General Manager will also oversee facility management and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about protecting the environment, and have a technical background combined with at least 5 years’ experience at the senior management level. A true leader, the General Manager will be a self-starter with excellent management and organizational skills. The General Manager will be a strategic thinker, highly professional, and act with integrity in all dealings. They should possess superior communication and interpersonal skills and have experience developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relations.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Business or Public Administration, combined with technical education and experience in engineering, chemistry, biology, or other relevant technical field. Bilingualism would be considered a definite asset.
